A family business with serious credentials

Knife Sharp is part of Atlas Machine Knives Ltd, a family-owned and run business based in Elland, West Yorkshire. Atlas serves industrial clients across sectors as diverse as paper making, tyre manufacturing, food production, and medical products, Knife Sharp specialises in professional knife sharpening by post — getting your kitchen and hobby knives sharper than the day you bought them.

We operate from a 550m² workshop in the heart of West Yorkshire, where every knife is hand-finished by one of our experienced knifesmiths. From everyday kitchen knives to high-end Japanese blades — if it has a cutting edge, we can sharpen it.

Your knives are safe with us

We understand that sending your knives away takes trust. Many of our customers have knives that have been in the family for years, or high-quality blades they've invested in. We treat every single one with the same care and respect we'd give our own.

Every knife is individually inspected on arrival, sharpened using professional-grade equipment, and hand-finished by a skilled knifesmith. We don't rush the process — we get it right. And we back that up with a guarantee: your knives will come back sharper than new, or we'll make it right.

Our specially designed reusable shipping box means they travel safely both ways, and we offer postage insurance with Royal Mail and DPD. 

How Knife Sharp came to be

It started simply enough — local customers kept turning up at our West Yorkshire workshop asking if we could sharpen their kitchen knives. We said yes, and word spread. In 2019, we decided to open our knife sharpening service to the whole of the UK. With our specially designed reusable knife shipping box, customers can now send knives to be sharpened from every corner of the country.
