    Below you will find the terms and conditions that bind you as a visitor and/or buyer of our services/products to us at Knife Sharp. They are pretty standard and nothing out of the ordinary, the main interesting points being:

    KNIFE SHARPENING SERVICE

    • The buyer must photograph knives prior to shipping to Knife Sharp, these photos must be kept until the sharpened knives are returned, and must be of high quality, dated with the date of taking. In addition to these photos, if a claim to loss or damage is to be made, the buyer is required to provide Knife Sharp and Evri/DPD with an invoice or receipt in english to prove the value of knives shipped. Without these photos and invoice/receipt no claim to loss or damage will be entertained. These photos must include:
    1. Close up photos of each knife
    2. Photos of the knives securely packed in our specialist shipping box with knives enclosed in the safety sleeves
    3. Photos of the sealed and bagged box ready for shipping
    • Once you have received our knife shipping box, you can send your knives to us at your leisure and in any timescale.
    • You must only send to Knife Sharp what is listed on the ‘What We Sharpen’ page (https://knifesharp.co.uk/pages/what-we-sharpen). If you send Knife Sharp anything else that is not listed on that page Knife Sharp is exonerated from any loss or damage.
    • Once you, the buyer, has placed an order for our knife sharpening & repair service, a service agreement between Knife Sharp and the buyer is commenced, and as such cannot be cancelled or terminated. The service will commence immediately. All packaging, shipping, and knife sharpening forms part of the service agreement. Our obligations to you as a buyer cease 24 hours after receipt of your returned sharpened knives.

    • Once you, the buyer, has placed an order for our knife sharpening & repair service you are authorising us to sharpen and repair your knives as we see fit based on our experience and knowledge of knives. This may include (but is not limited to) changes to the edge geometry, edge angle, edge width, and overall edge shape. As well as the overall knife profile, geometry, shape, length and height. Where ever possible we will maintain the manufacturers specifications, but this may not always be possible especially with repairs.

    • If you, the buyer, have any special requests relating to how you would like your knives sharpened and/or repaired please ensure you inform us in writing either by email or by including a written note within your knife box when sending the knives to us. If no special requests are made we will sharpen and repair based on our what we think is best based on our experience and knowledge of knives. 

    • Knife Sharp shall in no way be held liable for damages, losses or costs incurred from us changing the knives away from manufacturers specifications and/or specifications requested by the buyer. You, the buyer, authorise us, Knife Sharp, to alter your knives as we see fit. 
    • Knife Sharp shall in no way be held liable for damages, losses or costs incurred from the buyer or anyone one else injuring themselves or anyone else from the sharpened knives. Knives received back will be extremely sharp and great care and respect must be applied when using them. This also includes when unpacking the knives.
    • On the very rare occasion a knife cannot be sharpened and/or repaired, the knife will be returned unsharpened/unrepaired and a refund given on the individual knife. We will contact you to discuss this before we do this.
    • Knife Sharp will not be held liable for any costs or damages arising from breakages to knives that have existing faults.
    • Knife Sharp's overall liability is limited to a total of £20 per order if using Evri shipping and £500 if using DPD shipping. This limited liability covers our work to your knives, damage to knives caused by us, the loss of knives, and total loss in transit.
    • Knife Sharp cannot guarantee longevity of sharpness. The time that a knife stays sharp is dependant on many external factors that Knife Sharp has no control over.

     SHARPNESS GUARANTEE

    • All knives are quality checked and sharpness tested prior to shipping back to the customer. Knives are deemed sharp if they can finely slice paper with minimal effort. The sharpness guarantee does not relate to the edge profile, knife profile, or any aesthetic aspect of the knife, only how sharp the knife is. 
    • In the extremely unlikely event that you are not satisfied with the sharpness of your sharpened knives, Knife Sharp will re-sharpen your knives free of charge as long as your complaint is made within 24 hours of receipt of your sharpened knives. After this 24-hour window ends no knives from the original order can be re-sharpened free of charge under the guarantee.
    • Re-sharpening will only be undertaken once per knife per order. Shipping costs to and from Knife Sharp for returned knives are at the buyer's expense. If the knives are deemed not to be sharp upon inspection, we will refund your shipping costs and return your re-sharpened knives free of charge.

    SHIPPING & DELIVERY

    • While we will do everything we can to ensure you receive your sharpened knives back within 3 to 5 working days from us receiving them if using Evri shipping or next day if using DPD shipping, delivery times are best estimates and exact delivery times cannot be guaranteed and do not from part of our terms of service. You as a buyer exonerates Knife Sharp for any losses, inconvenience or damages related to delayed shipments.
    • The buyer is responsible for shipping the correct number of knives as purchased. Knife Sharp will send the buyer one knife safety sleeve for each knife ordered. If more knives are shipped than ordered, we will contact you to discuss if you would like us to sharpen that knife for additional cost. If fewer knives are sent to Knife Sharp than ordered will not refund the costs for missing knives.
    • The buyer is responsible for informing Knife Sharp of their correct shipping address. Knife Sharp is not responsible for losses relating to lost deliveries if an incorrect shipping address is supplied. If the buyer would like to change the shipping address post shipping, we will try our best to assist the buyer in amending this, but this cannot be guaranteed. Knife Sharp is exonerated from any losses to do with incorrect shipping addresses.

    • Knife Sharp only operates in the United Kingdom, we do not serve anywhere else. As per Evri/DPD conditions of service we cover all of the UK but unfortunately do not cover the Channel Islands, PO Boxes or BFPO locations.

    • Each shipment (each way) is covered up to £20 by Evri or up to £500 by DPD. In the event of loss and if the conditions around supply of photographs and invoice/receipt of the value of knives are met Evri will pay a maximum of £20 and DPD a maximum of £500. In the event of loss or damage the buyer exonerates Knife Sharp for losses in excess of £20 if using Evri, and £500 if using DPD.

    • Within each knife shipping box that you will receive is packaging instructions, these form part of the terms of service with Knife Sharp. Knife Sharp is exonerated from any loss or damage due to missing or damaged knives in transit due to incorrect or inadequate packaging or if the packaging has been altered in any way. The only safe way to ship knives to us is to follow the enclosed instructions to correctly use the packaging as supplied.

    • Knife Sharp and the buyer are bound by Evri/DPD terms and conditions which are available at Evri website here: https://www.evri.com/terms-and-conditions or the DPD website here: https://www.dpdlocal.co.uk/terms-and-conditions.jsp
      • In the event of a missing shipment, Knife Sharp will contact Evri/DPD on your behalf to investigate, this can take up to 7 working days. Any compensation due may take up to 3 months to be paid by Evri/DPD.
      • At any point the knives are in transit with Evri/DPD, the knives are at the customer’s risk and are insured by Evri up to the value of £20 or £500 if using DPD. Whilst the knives are in Knife Sharp’s possession they are at our risk and will be insured against loss and damage.
      • If the knife shipping box is damaged upon receipt, both when you first receive it or when you receive it back from sharpening, the buyer must inform both the Evri/DPD delivery driver and Knife Sharp on receipt by sending photographs of the damage to hello@knifesharp.co.uk.
      • The buyer shall inspect the knives within 24 hours of receipt. Where knives are damaged Knife Sharp can only assist if the buyer has notified Knife Sharp within 24 hours of receipt.

      GIFT CARDS & SUBSCRIPTIONS

      • Knife Sharp gift cards may only be redeemed towards the purchase of eligible knife sharpening services provided by Knife Sharp at https://knifesharp.co.uk/.
      • No processing fees apply to gift cards, and they do not have an expiry date.
      • We have the right to close customer accounts and cancel gift cards if a fraudulently obtained gift card is redeemed and/or used to make purchases.
      • The buyer can cancel or change the frequency of our subscription service at any time with no costs or fees. The subscription can be managed via the ReCharge customer portal which will be automatically set up when first taking out the subscription.

      FULL TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

      This website is operated by Atlas Machine Knives Ltd trading as Knife Sharp. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Knife Sharp. Knife Sharp offers this website, including all information, tools and services available from this site to you, the user, the buyer, conditioned upon your acceptance of all terms, conditions, policies and notices stated here.

      By visiting our site and/ or purchasing something from us, you engage in our “Service” and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions (“Terms of Service”, “Terms”), including those additional terms and conditions and policies referenced herein and/or available by hyperlink. These Terms of Service apply to all users of the site, including without limitation users who are browsers, vendors, customers, merchants, and/ or contributors of content.
