One of the most common questions we get asked here at Knife Sharp is ‘Do we sharpen Global Knives?’ The answer is most certainly yes! In fact, we see more Global Knives pass through our knife sharpening workshop than any other brand of knife.
We love Global Knives as the quality of the steel (CROMOVA 18) is fantastic. The steel has the great property of being hard but malleable and sharpens up really well to create a razor-sharp edge. As we work on Global Knives so often, we have sharpened and repaired pretty much every model and type of Global Knife including the Classic, Ni, UKON, and Sai ranges as well as the limited-edition models they produce. We can safely say our Global knife sharpening service is the best and most comprehensive in the UK.
Global Knives when new have bevels that are between 10-15 degrees each side depending on the model. Here at Knife Sharp, we match the original angle when sharpening to ensure it’s sharpened back to factory standards. If you prefer, you can ask us to change the angle to whatever you desire. Don’t forget we also sharpen all Global serrated (bread) knives.
We hand sharpen all Global Knives using our specially designed water-cooled diamond whetstones which means we can get the knives sharper then new. When new even Global Knives are machine sharpened, and our hand sharpening produces a much sharper edge.
As well as sharpening, we can repair all types of Global Knives, so if you have managed to snap the tip off the blade or taken a big chunk out of the body of the blade, or even got a few small nicks in the edge we can fix all that as part of our Global Knife sharpening service.
Fake Global Knives
As Global Knives are so popular, they have seen significant counterfeiting over the last few years. As such there is a large number of fake knives out there in the marketplace, especially on auction sites such as eBay. Global have some useful information on its website to avoid purchasing fake knives.
All that’s left to do is dig out your blunt and damaged Global Knives and get them sent off to us to get them sharper than new!
Stay Sharp!
