Knife Sharp had a weekend away from the sharpening stones last weekend to go compete in a charity motorcycle endurance race called the Plop Enduro! This is an 8-hour endurance race organised by the S&D Armada Motorcycle Club that is held twice a year for the benefit of numerous charities including the North West Blood Bikes, Aintree NHS Trauma Unit, Wales Air Ambulance, and many more.
The newly formed 3-man team ‘Team Knife Sharp’ made the journey down to the Mallory Park race circuit for a weekend of racing all in the aid of good causes. The race format is 8 hours to complete as many laps as possible. Everyone is on the same bike, namely the most produced vehicle in the world the mighty Honda C90 moped. These have a maximum speed of about 60mph so no speed records are in danger of being broken!
Team Knife Sharp had a fantastic race at one point getting up to 8th in class out of a field of 98 teams. Sadly, a technical exhaust problem (it fell off!) put us into the pits for a while, but we managed to pull some places back over the last 2 hours of the race to finish 16th in class and 31st overall. Not bad at all for our first go at it!
We will back out in the next race in September at Anglesey race circuit to raise some more money and to see if we can do a bit better! Why don’t you come down and watch how we get on?

Stay Sharp!
